Gel nails are made from a liquid resin that is cured under UV or LED light, while acrylic nails are made from a mixture of liquid monomer and powder polymer. What’s more important is how the products are applied and removed.

Gel Polish is a.k.a. No-Chip polish.   If applied correctly, it is not likely to smudge. The strength of gel polish is most visible in its removal process. Disclaimer:  No-chip can chip but rarely occurs.

Honestly,  they are both chemicals.  The removal process is key in keeping healthy nails healthy.  Gel nails provide ”some” flexibility so when accidentally hitting them against something they are less likely to snap and cause damage to the nail bed.

Your nails are only as strong as you nails are, its from the inside out.  Adding no-chip polish to semi-strong nails or an overlay of acrylic or gel will provide both strength and durability to your natural nails. Taking a hair, nail, or skin vitamins can help with the overall health of your nail.
